Sacramento, CA, August 14 - Capital Christian School is proud to announce the expansion of our Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) program to include a wider breadth of opportunities catering to K-12 students. Starting in September 2019, dance courses- including ballet, jazz, tap, and hip-hop - will be available to all K-12 students. Classes are available both to CCS and non-CCS enrolled students after school, Monday through Friday, and are located conveniently on our own campus. Registration is OPEN NOW and will be available monthly.

Soon after, a filmmaking course will launch, teaching students of all ages the skills of videography, editing, and showcasing their creations at a CCS Film Festival. Details about how to register will be announced soon. Finally, our official K-8 Theater Program will embark on its second annual Spring Musical. A show has been officially selected for this year's musical. Please be on the lookout for the announcement of that exciting title in the coming months.

In the following school year (2020-2021), additional advancements will be announced in the areas of singing, acting, technology, and media. We are continually seeking partners to assist us with progressive advancement of our VAPA department. Please direct partnership inquiries to Martin Noufer at

Our existing drama, band, choir, and art classes have remained the foundation of our VAPA program over the last 40 years. The first musical production (2008, Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat, directed by Cindy Melgoza) and the first pep band (2009, under the direction of Jim Reber) were two of the most recent additions to the VAPA department. Countless students have since graduated from our school to study the arts at various colleges and universities. Alumni, such as Xavier Walton ('08) and Andrew Feliciano ('03), have gone on to lead successful careers in the industry and have named CCS as the incubator for their passion.

Building off this foundation, our leadership welcomes this expansion as pivotal steps of our long-term goal toward the Conservatory model. We are excited for the future of VAPA at CCS and are thrilled to partner with our families in raising up the next generation of leaders in the entertainment industry.
