CCHS Announces Head of Athletics
SACRAMENTO, CA, November 13— Capital Christian High School proudly announces Aaron Garcia as Head of Athletics. Garcia is a Sacramento native who graduated from CSU Sacramento with a Bachelors of Science in Exercise Physiology. Following college, Garcia played professional football with the AFL for 10 years which opened the door for his position with the Las Vegas Outlaws as Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator. Garcia continued his passion for athletics by founding LeAGacy Sports Performance, a training program that seeks to develop, train, and mentor student athletes.
Garcia is currently serving his second year in the CCHS football program as Assistant Football Coach; alongside his role as Athletic Director at a local charter school. Garcia is married and has five children. His two eldest daughters are up and coming athletes at the university and high school levels, which has ignited his passion and focus on gender equity in athletics.
"I am hopeful that this position will allow me to blend both my experience in athletics with my faith in God," Garcia said. "I have spent the majority of my life in the world of athletics, where it can be difficult to balance competitive drive and confidence with humilty. I believe God has lead me through this journey so I can help others, especially young people."
CCHS administrators are pleased about adding Garcia to their staff and the exciting journey ahead for athletics. Garcia is scheduled to begin on November 26.
