Dear Capital Christian Families,
It's been my deepest honor to serve you and your students over the course of the last year and a half as interim superintendent. It was a privilege to build relationships with many of you over conversations, at our coffee events, and through sideline and bleacher chats; a relationship I pray will continue as I serve the school from more of a ministerial role rejoining the pastoral staff at Capital Christian Center.
2018-2019 was an introspective year through which your leadership and I worked hard to develop the framework required for progressive change in the years ahead. I am pleased with the work completed in 2018-2019 and thrilled to see much more of it launch this past fall. I would like to share our progress with you through our CCS Annual Report (available here). A few things I was delighted to witness this past year were:
- Students choosing to publicly affirm their relationship in Christ through baptisms at chapel. (page 11)
- Senior Buddy Day, where our youngest and oldest students learned from one another throughout the year. (page 22)
- The establishment of the FCA Club & Coaches Huddle. (page 31)
Please take some time to read over this report, as its' contents are an invitation for your continued partnership with CCS. As you've heard me say throughout my time here: we are better together!
I pray your holiday season is filled with the love of Christ. I encourage you to continue supporting the vision of the school and praying for your leadership. A great many things are in store for CCS. Thank you for a wonderful school year together!
Dr. Samuel Gordon
CCS Superintendent, 2018-2019
