Community Service

At Capital Christian High School, students have many opportunities to serve the community at large.

As part of their Christian education experience, we incorporate as many activities as possible to allow students to share their gifts with others while preparing them for a life of service and responsible citizenship.

The following events introduce them to areas of opportunity in their neighborhoods and surrounding communities:

Canned Food Drive

The Student Council sponsors a canned food drive for needy families. Students also help stock the food closet for CCC.

Christmas Convoy

During the month of December, students sponsor a project called Christmas Convoy for underprivileged families in the community. Toys and clothing are collected and distributed to needy families in our area. In addition to the food and clothing, students and CCHS families provide food and a Bible for each family.

Blood Drive

Students, under the leadership of the student council, sponsor a Blood Drive on campus to support our local blood bank.

Seniors Out Serving (SOS)

The entire senior class, along with their teachers, will spend a day serving in the community. They may help clean up parks, minister to the needy and/or serve in soup kitchens.

Missions Class

Our Missions class provides an opportunity for students to learn in a real way what it means to be a missionary. This year, 20 students and six adults traveled to Jamaica to serve and to minister to the Jamaicans. Additionally, they learn what it means to be a servant and missionary here at home.

Bible Classes

Our Bible classes require students to record community service hours. This is coordinated within the class under the direction of each Bible teacher. Ninth and tenth grade students are to do 10 hours of community service hours per semester, and eleventh and twelfth grade students are required to participate in 15 hours of service per semester. This community service participation is counted as 10% of their semester exam.
