Ab Alvarez

Ab Alvarez, Principal - Student Services; Chief Advancement Officer

Mr. Alvarez is the High School Principal of Student Services and the Chief Advancement Officer. He earned his BA in Business Administration from Azusa Pacific University. Prior to becoming Principal, he served for fifteen years as a CCHS Algebra teacher and as Dean of Students. He also coaches our High School Soccer teams. Ab is married and has three children who attend CCS and one CCS graduate.

Julie Filer

Julie FilerPrincipal - Academics

Mrs. Filer serves as the High School Principal of Academics. Julie earned her BA in Social Science from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia and her MA in Teaching from Chapman University. She holds a Professional Clear Single Subject Teaching Credential in English. She also holds a Professional Lifetime ACSI Teacher's Certificate and an ACSI Administrative credential. Julie is married and has two daughters who attend CCS.

PJ Garza

PJ Garza, Vice Principal

Mr. Garza is the Vice Principal and he coaches the High School Golf teams. He earned his BA in Social Science from Bethany University and holds an ACSI Administrative Credential. PJ is married and has two little boys.

Bob Wills, Assistant Vice Principal


Mr. Wills is the High School Assistant Vice Principal. He has a BA in Education at the University of California, Berkeley and a Masters degree in Secondary School Administration from Whittier College. He has a General Teaching Credential, a Secondary School Adminstration Credential and a General Pupil Personnel Services Credential. Mr. Wills is also the Football and Basketball game announcer. He started at CCHS in 2004 as a Spanish Teacher and currently coaches the CCHS Softball team. He is married, has five children, 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Melissa Rowe

Melissa Rowe, Assistant Dean of Students 

Mrs. Rowe is the Student Services Facilitator and Office Manager.  She earned her AA degree from Delta College.  She has worked in Christian Education for many years. She has a son in the United States Air Force and a daughter in college. Both are graduates from CCS. She is also a proud grandparent of three boys.                      

Suzanne Baker

Suzanne Baker, Athletic Director

Mrs. Baker is the High School Athletic Director and Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach. She earned her BA in Journalism from California State University at Sacramento and holds an ACSI Administrative Credential. Suzanne is married and has two daughters who graduated from CCS.

Hannah Abraham

Hannah Abraham

Mrs. Abraham teaches Chemistry and Advanced Placement Chemistry. She earned her BS in Chemistry and her BA in Education from Madras University in India, and her MS in Chemistry and her MA in Education from Annamalai University in India. She taught chemistry for thirty years and served in various roles as Headmistress and Vice Principal of 7,000 students in India. She holds an ACSI Standard Teaching Certificate and a Teaching Credential from India. Hannah is married and has one son.

Kim Armburst

Kimberly Armburst

Mrs. Armbrust teaches Algebra II, Finite Math and Advanced placement Calculus. She earned her BS in Mathematics from Azusa Pacific University and her MS in Applied Mathematics at California State University from San Diego. She holds a California Single Subject CLEAR Teaching Credential for Mathematics and an ACSI Teacher’s Certificate. Kimberly is married and has two children who attend CCS and one CCS graduate.

Peggy Bush
 

Mrs. Bush teaches 11th grade American Literature and Advanced Placement Language and Composition. Her educational background includes BA from Seattle Pacific University, with post graduate work from Seattle Pacific, Oregon State University, and Sac State. She has teaching credentials from Kentucky, Washington State and ACSI. Her teaching experience includes teaching English in Kentucky, Washington and California. She is married and has three daughters.

Rick Collins

Rick Collins

Mr. Collins teaches Theology for Juniors and Seniors, and serves as the campus pastor for the High School. He earned his BA in Ministerial Studies from Trinity College and his MA of Theology Biblical Studies from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California. He holds an ACSI Teacher's Certificate. Rick is married to his junior high sweetheart.

Donna Erie

Donna Erie

Mrs. Erie teaches 9th grade English and Advanced English, and is the 9th grade class advisor. Donna earned her BA in Child Development from California State University at Sacramento. She holds an ACSI Teacher’s Certificate for English and a CLEAR California Multiple Subject State Teaching Credential. Donna is married and has one child and five grandchildren. Her oldest grandchild attends.

Scott Foran

Mr. Foran is the English Department Chair at Capital Christian School and teaches AP Composition, English 12, and AP Literature. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Simpson University and a Master of Arts in English from California State University and has been teaching at the high school and college levels for seventeen years. In addition to his work at CCS, Mr. Foran also teaches part-time at William Jessup University.

Ron Gerringer

Ron Gerringer

Mr. Gerringer teaches American Government, Economics and Money Management. He earned his BA in History and Physical Education from the University of Texas. He holds an ACSI Teacher's Certificate and a Lifetime Texas State Teaching Credential. Ron is married and has three children (CCS alums) and nine grandchildren.

LaRon Gordon

LaRon Gordon

Mr. Gordon has a BA from Azusa Pacific University. He is teaching boys P.E. this year. He is the son of Pastor Samuel Gordon who is a pastor at CCC. His mother is a teacher and has taught and substituted at CCS. He has two sisters. He loves fly fishing, coaching basketball and playing softball. A CCS alum, he is married and has one son.

Rick Graham

Mr. Graham is the Missions Bible Class teacher. He earned his BS in Social Science and Physical Education from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas. He holds an ACSI Administrative Credential and a California Life Teaching Credential. Mr. Graham is married and has two children and four grandchildren.

Betty Gunther

Betty Gunter

Mrs. Gunter teaches Bible classes and serves as the Bible department chair for the Middle School and High School. She earned her BA in Religion from the Emmanuel College School of Christian Ministries in Franklin Springs, Georgia, and holds an ACSI Teacher’s Certificate as a Bible specialist. Betty is married and has two children (CCS alums) and four grandchildren.

Mrs. Torres de Henning teaches Honors Spanish 2 and 3, Spanish 3 and 4, AP Spanish Language. She earned her BA degrees in French and Foreign Relations in Guatemala, her native country. She earned her BA in English Literature from Cal Poly University at San Luis Obispo and her MA in Spanish from California State University at Sacramento. She holds an ACSI Teacher’s Certificate and is awaiting approval for her California Single Subject Teaching Credential in Spanish. Juli is married and has two girls who graduated from CCS.

Mary Jacobs

Mrs. Jacobs teaches Human Development, Health, and Ethics class. Mary earned her BA in Social Work from Iowa State University. Mary leads the Intercessors' prayer group at CCS. Mary is married to our Superintendent, Todd Jacobs, and their three children are graduates of CCS.

Dennis Jordan

Denis Jordan

Mr. Jordan teaches Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus AB and BC, and Physics. He serves as the Math department chair for the Middle School and High School. He earned his BS in Math from Liberty University in Virginia and his MS in Math from Virginia Tech. He is awaiting approval for his California Single Subject Teaching Credential in Mathematics. In addition to teaching, Denis is part of the coaching staff for the school’s Cross Country and Ski/Snowboarding teams.

Rocky Lyons

Rocky Garza

Ms. Garza teaches Spanish 1 and 2 and serves as a sophomore class advisor. She earned her BA in Elementary Education with endorsements in both Bilingual Education and Teaching English as a Second Language from Central Washington University. She earned her MA in Education with an emphasis on Literacy from Washington State University. She holds an ACSI Teacher’s Certificate, a Washington State Teaching Certificate and a California State Teaching Credential. Rocky has three sons who attend CCS.

John Malinowski

John Malinowski

Mr. Malinowski teaches Biology and Field/Marine Biology, and serves as the Science department chair for the Middle School and High School. He also is the Cross Country coach. John earned his BS in Biology and BS in Science Education from John Brown University in Arkansas. He holds an Arkansas State Teaching Credential and an ACSI Teacher’s Certificate. John is married and has three children.

Cindy Melgoza

Cindy Melgoza

Mrs. Melgoza has a BA and a Teaching credential in Music Education. She teaches Choir, Ensemble and Drama and band as well as a recorder class for MS. She is married and has three children who attend CCS and one a CCS graduate. She is the director of our annual musical productions.

Brenda Moore

Mrs. Moore teaches Speech and Psychology. She earned her BA in Business Administration from National University and her MA in Communication Studies from the University of California at Sacramento. She holds a Professional Lifetime ACSI Teacher's Certificate. Brenda is married and has one son who attended CCS.

Lucie Ossola

Lucie Ossola

Ms. Ossola is a US veteran of the Army and Air Force. She has 16 years experience serving our country. She teaches Keyboarding, Intro to Computers, Web Design and Web Animation. She received most of her education through the military. She has attended the University of Maryland and Hartnell College. She is a Certified Web Master. She has three children. Her oldest son is currenlty serving in the US Army as an Army Ranger.  Her daughter is a former graduate from CCS and her youngest son is currently attending CCS. She has four grandchildren.

Rhonda Piper

Mrs. Piper teaches Photography and Yearbook. She studied Photography at Bethany College and Sacramento City College. She holds an ACSI certification and owns and operates her own photography company. Rhonda is married and has two grown children, one who graduated from CCS.

Candace Raffanti

Candace Raffanti

Miss Raffanti teaches US History and AP US History. She earned her BA in Social Science from Biola University and her MA in Education from Simpson University. She holds an ACSI Teacher’s Certificate and a CLEAR California State Teaching Credential with a single subject endorsement in Social Sciences.

Jim Reber

Jim Reber (known as Papa Reber) is currently our band teacher for all three schools - Elementary, Middle and High, and also leads our joint all school jazz and pep bands. Papa Reber has played trumpet and various other wind instruments for more than 40 years, has played professionally with several bands and is a regular in many of the Capital Christian Center musical and drama productions. He also plays lead trumpet with the church worship band on Sunday mornings. He is a Magna Cum Laude graduate from National University and is also ACSI certified. Both of Jim’s children (Justin and Jodi) are Capital Christian School Alumni, both hold Masters Degrees and are in education. Papa Reber has four grandchildren.

Yvette Roberts

Yvette Roberts

Mrs. Roberts teaches Art, Art 2, AP Art History, AP World History, and Missions class. Mrs. Roberts is very involved in CCS activities.

Beth Segal

Beth Segal

Miss Segal teaches 10th grade English and Advanced English. She earned her BA in Music from the Dominican University of California and her BA in Biblical Studies from Christian Life International Bible College. She holds an ACSI Teacher’s Certificate, a CLEAR California Multiple Subject State Teaching Credential, and a Mild to Moderate Special Education Teaching Credential. Her two children are graduates of CCS.

Sharon Shipley 

 Sharon Shipley teaches Physical Science and Anatomy and Physiology.  She attended John Brown University and finished her Bachelors at Bethany University.  She went on to get a Masters in Education from Simpson University and holds a Secondary Single Subject Preliminary Credential in General Science and an ACSI Credential.  Sharon is married and also coaches soccer.   

Holly Smith

Holly Smith

Mrs. Smith is the Life Skills Counselor, helping students deal with spiritual, emotional, psychological and social struggles. She earned her BS in Kinesiology from Fresno State University and her MA in School Counseling from National University. She holds a CLEAR California Single Subject Teaching Credential and a PPS Credential. Holly is married with three young children.

Tyson Surls

Mr. Surls teaches Physics and Algebra. He earned his B.S. in Mathematics from Corban University and attended Grand Canyon University for his graduate coursework. He has an ACSI Teacher's Certificate and is married with no children. Tyson is overjoyed to be sharing the truth and order of God's creation with students every day.

Jane Wible

Jane Wible

Mrs. Wible teaches Student Leadership and French 1, 2 & 3 and serves as the Student Activity Director. Jane earned her BA in Foreign Language from the University of Texas at Arlington and continued with her studies at North Texas State University to receive her Lifetime Texas State Teaching Credential for French, English and Spanish. She also holds an ACSI Teacher’s Certificate. Jane is married and has three sons and four grandchildren.

Wendy Young


Wendy Young teaches Algebra 1A, Algebra 1B and Geometry.  She earned her B.S. degree in Mathematics from California State University at Hayward.   She feels blessed to partner with families to educate their children not only in Math but also to help them mature in their faith and love for the Lord.  She has two students currently attending CCS.

Ingrid Zierman

Ingrid Zierman

 Mrs. Zierman teaches 9th grade World History. She earned her BA Degree in History at San Jose State University in 1979. She also holds a clear California multi subject state teaching credential from California State University in Sacramento.  Ingrid met her husband at Bethany Bilbe College and has 3 grown children and 2 grandchildren.

 Mrs. Eiesland is an Administrative Assistant in the High School Office. She has a heart for missions and youth. Mrs. Eiesland has been married for 6 years and has two children. She is an alumni of CCS.

 Audrey Gaines


Mrs. Gaines oversees the attendance for the High School. She holds two certificates in Biblical Studies from St. James and Faith Bible College. Audrey has been happily married for over 30 years and feels privileged to be the mother to her three sons, two of whom are CCS graduates, and the grandmother to three beautiful grandchildren. She believes that we are called to be ambassadors of hope.

Tiffany Shelley


Mrs. Shelley is an Administrative Assistant in the High School Attendance Office.  She earned her BS in Recreation and Leisure Studies from California State University at Sacramento.  She is a graduate from CCS.  Tiffany is married and has two children who attend CCS.  She loves working in a Christian environment and loves what she does.
