Ab Alvarez

Ab Alvarez, Principal

Mr. Alvarez is the High School Principal. He earned his BA in Business Administration from Azusa Pacific University. Prior to becoming Principal, he served for fifteen years as a CCHS Algebra teacher and as Dean of Students. He also coaches our High School Soccer teams. Ab is married and has four children who attend CCS.

Rick Graham

Rick Graham, Vice Principal

Mr. Graham is the High School Vice Principal and Missions Bible Class teacher. He earned his BS in Social Science and Physical Education from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas. He holds an ACSI Administrative Credential and a California Life Teaching Credential. Mr. Graham is married and has two children and four grandchildren.

Suzanne Baker

Suzanne Baker, Athletic Director, Varsity Girls Basketball Coach

Mrs. Baker is the High School Athletic Director and Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach. She earned her BA in Journalism from California State University at Sacramento and holds an ACSI Administrative Credential. Suzanne is married and has two daughters who graduated from CCS.

PJ Garza

PJ Garza, Dean of Students

Mr. Garza is the Dean of Students and he coaches the High School Golf teams. He earned his BA in Social Science from Bethany University and holds an ACSI Administrative Credential. PJ is married and has a little boy.

Julie Filer

Julie Filer, Dean of Academics

Mrs. Filer serves as the Language Arts department chair for the Middle School and High School. Julie earned her BA in Social Science from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia and her MA in Teaching from Chapman University. She holds a Professional Clear Single Subject Teaching Credential in English and a supplement in Social Science. She also holds a Professional Lifetime ACSI Teacher's Certificate. Julie is married and has two daughters who attend CCS.

Melissa Rowe

Melissa Rowe

Mrs. Rowe is the Student Services Facilitator and Office Manager.  She earned her AA degree from Delta College.  She has worked in Christian Education for 18 years, 10 at CCS. She has a son in the United States Air Force and a daughter in college. Both are graduates from CCS. She is also a proud grandparent of two boys.

Hannah Abraham

Hannah Abraham

Mrs. Abraham teaches Chemistry and Advanced Placement Chemistry. She earned her BS in Chemistry and her BA in Education from Madras University in India, and her MS in Chemistry and her MA in Education from Annamalai University in India. She taught chemistry for thirty years and served in various roles as Headmistress and Vice Principal of 7,000 students in India. She holds an ACSI Standard Teaching Certificate and a Teaching Credential from India. Hannah is married and has one son.

Kim Armburst

Kimberly Armburst

Mrs. Armbrust teaches Geometry and Algebra II. She earned her BS in Mathematics from Azusa Pacific University and her MS in Applied Mathematics at California State University from San Diego. She holds a California Single Subject CLEAR Teaching Credential for Mathematics and an ACSI Teacher’s Certificate. Kimberly is married and has three children who attend CCS.

Rick Collins

Rick Collins

Mr. Collins teaches Theology for Juniors and Seniors, and serves as the campus pastor for the High School. He earned his BA in Ministerial Studies from Trinity College and his MA of Theology Biblical Studies from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California. He holds an ACSI Teacher's Certificate. Rick is married to his junior high sweetheart.

Donna Erie

Donna Erie

Mrs. Erie teaches 9th grade English and Advanced English, and is the 9th grade class advisor. Donna earned her BA in Child Development from California State University at Sacramento. She holds an ACSI Teacher’s Certificate for English and a CLEAR California Multiple Subject State Teaching Credential. Donna is married and has one child and five grandchildren. The two oldest grandchildren attended CCS for three years and hope to return next year.

Scott Foran

Mr. Foran teaches 12th grade English 12 and AP English. He earned his BA in English from Simpson University and his MA in English from California State University at Chico. He has been teaching at the high school and college levels for the last fourteen years. Scott has had a number of poems and stories published in a variety of journals and anthologies, and his most recent play, Twice Fooled, is being performed by Shasta College. He is married and has one son.

Ron Gerringer

Mr. Gerringer teaches American Government, Economics and World History. He earned his BA in History and Physical Education from the University of Texas. He holds an ACSI Teacher's Certificate and a Lifetime Texas State Teaching Credential. Ron is married and has three children (CCS alums) and eight grandchildren.

LaRon Gordon

LaRon Gordon

Mr. Gordon has a BA from Azusa Pacific University. He is teaching boys P.E. this year. He is the son of Pastor Samuel Gordon who is a pastor at CCC. His mother is a teacher and has taught and substituted at CCS. He has two sisters. He loves fly fishing, coaching basketball and playing softball. He attended CCHS 17 years ago. This is his fourth year at Capital.

Betty Gunther

Mrs. Gunter teaches The Inner Man, First and Last Things and Reality Quest Bible classes, and serves as the Bible department chair for the Middle School and High School. She earned her BA in Religion from the Emmanuel College School of Christian Ministries in Franklin Springs, Georgia, and holds an ACSI Teacher’s Certificate as a Bible specialist. Betty is married and has two children (CCS alums) and three grandchildren.

Julia Henning

Julieta Henning

Mrs. Torres de Henning teaches Spanish 2, 3 and 4/AP. She earned her BA degrees in French and Foreign Relations in Guatemala, her native country. She earned her BA in English Literature from Cal Poly University at San Luis Obispo and her MA in Spanish from California State University at Sacramento. She holds an ACSI Teacher’s Certificate and is awaiting approval for her California Single Subject Teaching Credential in Spanish. She recently became a USA citizen. Juli is married and has two girls who graduated from CCS.

Mary Jacobs

Mary Jacobs

Mrs. Jacobs teaches Human Development, Health, and Ethics and The Inner Man Bible class. Mary earned her BA in Social Work from Iowa State University. Mary has led the Intercessors' prayer group at CCS for twelve years. Mary is married to our Superintendent, Todd Jacobs, and their three children are graduates of CCS.

Dennis Jordan

Denis Jordan

Mr. Jordan teaches Geometry, Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus AB and BC, and Physics, and he is responsible for the math section of the SAT prep course. He serves as the Math department chair for the Middle School and High School. He earned his BS in Math from Liberty University in Virginia and his MS in Math from Virginia Tech. He is awaiting approval for his California Single Subject Teaching Credential in Mathematics. In addition to teaching, Denis is part of the coaching staff for the school’s Cross Country and Ski/Snowboarding teams.

Rocky Lyons

Rocky Garza

Ms. Garza teaches Spanish 1 and 2 and serves as a sophomore class advisor. She earned her BA in Elementary Education with endorsements in both Bilingual Education and Teaching English as a Second Language from Central Washington University. She earned her MA in Education with an emphasis on Literacy from Washington State University. She holds an ACSI Teacher’s Certificate, a Washington State Teaching Certificate and a California State Teaching Credential. Rocky has three sons who attend CCS.

John Malinowski

John Malinowski

Mr. Malinowski teaches Biology and Field/Marine Biology, and serves as the Science department chair for the Middle School and High School. John earned his BS in Biology and BS in Science Education from John Brown University in Arkansas. He holds an Arkansas State Teaching Credential and an ACSI Teacher’s Certificate. John is married and has three children.

Cindy Melgoza

Cindy Melgoza

Mrs. Melgoza has taught at Capital for three years. She has a BA and a Teaching credential in Music Education. She teaches choir and band as well as a recorder class for MS. She is married and has four children who attend CCS. She has been a director in the Children's Music Program at CCC as well as been involved in the CCC choir and worship team.

Brenda Moore

Mrs. Moore teaches Speech, Spanish 1 and Psychology, and serves as the Foreign Language department chair for the Middle School and High School. She earned her BA in Business Administration from National University and her MA in Communication Studies from the University of California at Sacramento. She holds a Professional Lifetime ACSI Teacher's Certificate. Brenda is married and has one son who attended CCS.

Lucie Ossola

Lucie Ossola

Ms. Ossola is a US veteran of the Army and Air Force. She has 16 years experience serving our country. She teaches Keyboarding, Intro to Computers, Web Design and Web Animation. She received most of her education through the military. She has attended the University of Maryland and Hartnell College. She is a Certified Web Master. This is Ms. Ossola's eighth year at Capital. She has three children. Her oldest son is currenlty serving in the US Army as an Army Ranger.  Her daughter is a former graduate from CCS and her youngest son is currently attending CCS.  She has four grandchildren.

Dan Paige

Dan Paige

Mr. Paige teaches Algebra and Two-Year Algebra and is an NILD education therapist. He earned his BA in Social Science from Azusa Pacific University. He holds an ACSI Teacher’s Certificate and is a certified NILD Educational Therapist. Dan is married, and his wife Stephanie teaches at the CCS Preschool.

Rhonda Piper

Rhonda Piper

Mrs. Piper teaches Photography and Yearbook. She studied photography at Bethany College and Sacramento City College. She holds an ACSI certification and owns and operates her own Photography Company. Rhonda is married and has two grown children, one who graduated from CCS.

Candace Raffanti

Miss Raffanti teaches American Literature and World History, and serves as a junior class advisor. She earned her BA in Social Science from Biola University and her MA in Education from Simpson University. She holds an ACSI Teacher’s Certificate and a CLEAR California State Teaching Credential with a single subject endorsement in Social Sciences.

Yvette Roberts

Yvette Roberts

Mrs. Roberts has been employed at CCS for nine years. She teaches US History, 9th and 7th grade World History, HS and MS Art, HS Drama I and II, 6th grade Drama and Missions class. She is the Junior class advisor and the Visual and Performing Arts Department Head. Mrs. Roberts has directed 12 HS/MS full-length drama productions, and is our Mascot coach.

Beth Segal

Beth Segal

Miss Segal teaches 10th grade English and Advanced English. She earned her BA in Music from the Dominican University of California and her BA in Biblical Studies from Christian Life International Bible College. She holds an ACSI Teacher’s Certificate, a CLEAR California Multiple Subject State Teaching Credential, and a Mild to Moderate Special Education Teaching Credential. She is finishing a program at Stanford to earn a California Teacher of English Learners Credential.

Holly Smith

Holly Smith

Mrs. Smith is the Life Skills Counselor, helping students deal with spiritual, emotional, psychological and social struggles. She earned her BS in Kinesiology from Fresno State University and her MA in School Counseling from National University. She holds a CLEAR California Single Subject Teaching Credential and a PPS Credential. Holly is married with three young children.

Elizabeth Tacosa

Elizabeth Tacosa

Mrs. Tacosa teaches Physical Science and Anatomy & Physiology, and serves as a freshman class advisor. She earned her BS in Biological Sciences from Los Angeles Baptist College, now known as The Master's College. She holds an ACSI Teacher's Certificate. Elizabeth is married and has two children who graduated from CCS.

Jane Wible

Mrs. Wible teaches Student Leadership and French 1 & 2, and serves as the Student Activity Director. Jane earned her BA in Foreign Language from the University of Texas at Arlington and continued with her studies at North Texas State University to receive her Lifetime Texas State Teaching Credential for French, English and Spanish. She also holds an ACSI Teacher’s Certificate. Jane is married and has three sons and four grandchildren.

Mrs. Zierman teaches U.S. History and Advanced Placement U.S. History. She earned her BA in History from San Jose State University. She holds an ACSI Teacher's Certificate and a CLEAR California State Teaching Credential. Ingrid is married and has three grown children.

Dennis Jordan

Audrey Gains

Mrs. Gaines is in charge of Attendance. She holds two certificates in Biblical Studies from St. James Bible College and Faith Bible College.  She was the Office Manager of her husband's General Contracting business for 20 years before coming to CCHS 4 years ago.  Audrey is married and has 3 sons, 2 of whom are CCS graduates. Audrey also has 2 beautiful grandchildren.
