College & Career

Welcome to the CCHS College & Career Center!

The purpose of the College & Career Center is to introduce students to college and career opportunities and to help them prepare for success in college and on into adulthood. The focus is to raise awareness at each grade level.

Freshmen

Freshmen work through Dr. Janet Miranda’s college planning workbook, Accepted!, designed to introduce them to the college entrance process.

Sophomores

CCHS introduces the PSAT in the 10th grade. Students also set up accounts with Kuder Career Planning Systems, an online career assessment tool.

Juniors

An SAT Prep Course is available twice a year for students to prepare for the College Board exam. Students also take the PSAT and are required to attend a college fair. At the end of 11th grade, students complete a college planning project which includes the following: their top five schools, resume, personal essay, common application and more.

Seniors

Assistance is available for 12th grade students as they complete their applications, recommendations, scholarships and financial aid information. The seniors also participate in a Senior Summit in April to help with their college/career transition.

Opportunities for all Students

Each fall, CCHS hosts “College Day,” where approximately 25 colleges visit our campus. We also offer a College Planning Night for students and parents.
