The Bible teaches that each one of us is made in the image of God, our Creator (Genesis 1:27). Therefore, we all are capable of creating and being artists. It is our desire that each child use his or her God-given talent to worship the Lord. Students in grades K-5 enjoy formal art education within their classrooms. Students analyze, assess and derive meaning from works of art, including their own, according to the elements of art, the principles of design, and art history and appreciation.

The Elementary Band Program is designed to introduce students to the world of instrumental musical performance. Beginning in the 3rd grade, students have the opportunity to explore their God-given musical talents via woodwinds, brass and percussion instruments.

The elementary drama program at Capital Christian School provides classes and on-stage performance opportunities for students who are interested in experiencing theater arts. This may include musical drama. This program seeks to lay a foundation for elementary drama students who wish to develop their vocal and acting abilities for participation in middle and high school drama experiences. Students audition for acting, speaking and singing parts in the programs that are offered throughout the year. Participants must attend required rehearsals which may extend to after-school hours.

The elementary music education program at Capital Christian School is based upon Psalm 8:2, “From the lips of children and infants You have ordained praise.”

As the children use their voices to praise the Lord, their hearts and lives are strengthened in Him. Music classes strive to incorporate many facets of the fine arts into our music education program. In addition to foundational teaching in music instruction, Christmas and spring programs are presented. These integrate artistic expressions such as choir, drama and choreography. They highlight the talents of our students, and more importantly, seek to showcase the glory of God as the students use their gifts to honor Him.

Private piano lessons are available on campus.
